Though the third disc of the series was rather a descend in caliber and cohearence, the fourth and final disc of the series does not, in any plan, disappoint. The first episode was moving in its theory.. but it was not especially spectacular. The second episode is a radiant example of the more disturbing qualities of this present. Something is very very harmful… and no one sees it but the traveller. The last episode will have you suspicious for the first half, expecting the “other shoe to tumble” so to allege, but it will gain you weep. One, because it’s that murky, two.. because it’s over! *sniffle*
Kino’s Trip was a graceful, deep, and altogether too short, series. The last disc gives some more hints into Kino’s past, with the “master” being seen for the first time. However, nothing is truly revealed — it’s up to the viewer to originate the rest of the account. If you have liked the series thus far, this disc is an absolute must, showcasing two of the best episodes since the first disc. Definitely worth watching over and over again.
…Kino’s Scoot is unexcited continuing on…..

This is the last DVD is this series, based on the novels of Keichi Sigsawa. They feature Kino, an anomalous traveler and Hermes, the motorcycle that doubles as a companion. This pair follows the road, captivating from plot to area and never staying for more than three days. Each tale finds Kino confronting many of the mysteries that produce up human nature. Some are sarcastic, some chilling, some comical, but all are views of the human condition, seen as a faceted gem, and from a distance.
The three-day limit is Kino’s map of avoiding entrenched complications. While we never do learn why Kino avoids extended relationships (other than with Hermes), the traveler is very worthy in control of her fate. Kino never goes somewhere by accident, she can buy care of herself, and she is doing what she wants to do. The mystery that surrounds this figure becomes share of the atmospherics of the series, rather than a memoir arc of any consequence.

The final stories are all very strong ones. The first episode is a pastiche of a disquieting legend of revenge and atonement that seques into a visit with a wise mane who has somehow relinquished and clinging to the world. When we watch that appearances are not quite what they seem we have to resolve what is the nature of this kind of ‘wisdom’ when it serves an unexpected purpose.
The second episode tells of how two countries avoid the continuance of a 200-hundred-year war. Or rather, how they avoid having that war grasp their maintain lives. This is a dismal fable, one that turns on the unwillingness of people to capture any but the easy route. For some people, change is simply not an option.
This is the bleakest DVD of the collection, and the third story is what makes it so. Kino decides to visit the country with the unfriendliest reputation to travelers, only to observe that everyone is going out of their intention to be satisfactory. Naturally, nothing is as it seems, but the twist in this myth is a double one. This isn’t an easy ending for the series and viewers will gain more to judge about than they bargained for.
This series gets an ‘A’ for going into emotional nooks and crannies that are most often avoided by both life and engaging film. Sometimes there is a strong lesson tedious the episodes, but often we are unbiased left with a poignant feeling and a query or two. I like this sort of thing, but many may steal stronger tale arcs and solider conclusions. One thing you can count on, though is thoughtful work and many unexpected twists.
One last stamp – as another reviewer has mentioned, the Japanese is more ambiguous than the norm. In this last DVD this surfaces as a enormous number of glaring differences between the subtitles and the dubbing. Since neither is completely outrageous this is one of those cases where it is best to experience both.

If you are unprejudiced learning your procedure around the Doctor Who universe this is a milestone for you, the 5th Doctor teaming up with his past selves, how wintry is that…and surprisingly distinct, he is a timetraver, a long lived one at that, even with the whole universe at his disposal he must meet himself now and again. Well, according to the Doctor it only happens in the direst of times…with the Timelords support, as in the THREE DOCTORS.

The last DVD offered tweaked SFX options and several different edits have been offered of the Five Doctor’s over the year, some more suspect then others, like the DVD deletion of the Cyberman’s “AHHH” upon spotting the Doctor, which I greatly missed. The sometimes in, sometimes out “Cyber-barf” as well. Another change was the edited demolish effects of the TARDISes departure scene, which was removed, while making more sense in the latest edit, aren’t nearly as chilly.
This release ties in nicely to the inclusion of TIME Wreck the brief 5th Doctor 10th Doctor team up to be included in the season 4th location.

The Five Doctors 25th Anniversary edition of The Five Doctors is a great improvement over the first Five Doctors DVD that was released contrivance aid in Sep 2001. This position contains both the orginal 1983 prick and the 1995 version. And has some very wintry special features such as a nice documentry on the 20th Anniversary year hosted by Colin Baker. A very well done DVD place. As for the memoir I always concept it was ok.I do wish that Tom Baker agreed to apear in the yarn.My dad has always called it The 4 Doctors rather then 5. I can imagine alot of American fans was disapointed because for many Americans at the time Tom Baker was Doctor Who. Owell. Yeah I can watch why he passed on doing it as he unprejudiced left the roll and wanted to recede on to other things. Owell.Anyways this is a very nice DVD spot from The BBC.Looking forward to more Doctor Who DVD’s in the future.

Well having The Terminitor series on DVD and loving them and having recently upgraded to a blu-ray player I decided to seize the descend and upgrade my collection to high definition blu-ray format.
Boy, what a mistake that was.
Buy,Download, Or Stream The Terminator! Click Here
Picture quality is Poor – well unpleasant for blu-ray anyway. They’ve taken the same standard definition source as the DVD and upscaled it for blu-ray – but it’s serene standard definition. Only the menu is in High Definition, the movie is not. I tested my DVD version upscaled against the blu-ray edition and found them identical – if anything the DVD came out slightly on top.
It also only contains 2 extras – the special effects making of and the retrospective – nothing else. My DVD edition contains over a dozen extras.
My verdict if you’re thinking of buying The Terminator in blu-ray and you have an upscaling DVD/BD player – forget it. Stick with the DVD version instead, report is the same and it has more extras. It’s cheaper too.
Maybe one day this unbelievable movie will receive the treatment it deserves and be digitally remastered and have it’s frames scanned with a high definition camera – but until then sit on your DVD’s and wait.
The novel “Terminator” is arguably the greatest sci-fi/action film ever, and the Special Edition DVD finally does this classic film justice. Many people discover at the sequel as the better of the two, but remember, Cameron was given a titanic budget for T2. He was forced to film “The Terminator” for less than $6 million. If you’re like me, you could write enough about this movie to own an encyclopedia, but I’ll try to give fair a breif state description for those who have yet to ogle it.

In the future, SkyNET, the supercomputer in control of all military power, decides that humans must be destroyed and begins a massive nuclear war that destroys most of the population. The survivors fabricate a resistance agains the computer and its mechanical army, and eventually defeat it, thanks to their leader John Connor. In a final exertion to glean, the computer sends a Terminator support in time to slay John’s mother, Sarah, before he is born. The humans send succor a lone soilder, Kyle Reese, to protect Sarah from the seemingly unstoppable cyborg.
When the movie was originally filmed, the soundtrack was recorded in mono, which sounded putrid on the modern DVD release of the Terminator. But here you can derive a newly recorded soundtrack, with the modern soundtrack remixed along with current gun and explosion sound effects. Most of the unusual sounds are very frosty (esp. the HK entrance in the first scene), and the recent gun effects are worthy for the most section. Only in a few instances are the recent sounds a dinky aged. Fortunately the DVD also sports the modern mono soundtrack for when you want to witness the new verion.
Next to the film itself, the best piece of this DVD is the Special Features, most of which were unavailable before. There are two Terminator documentaries, which have cast and crew interviews and unhurried the scene footage of the unique filming of the Terminator, very frigid stuff for die hards. Also featured are deleted scenes from the modern film, which offer a deeper see into the Terminator mythology, and shows different sides of some characters which you wouldn’t peek in the novel. Also in the special features are all the current storyboards for the film and hundreds more photos of the sets, actors and sketches from the recent production. Simply effect, for die hard Terminator fans, your wait is over. Terminator: Special Edition is a godsend.

You’re getting all 68 episodes (Including Pilot and Finale) spread out across 11 single sided discs. Unlike the Canadian releases, there are no flipper discs to be found in this complete place. Each disc has 6 episodes on it (Instead of the usual 4) Which brings me to my only complaint.

These discs are the same as the US releases seen here on Amazon. (Priced at 20 apiece) The 1st and 3rd season are each spread out across 4 discs, and the 2nd season across 3 discs. (11 total) While portray quality is not up to our standards of say… Lost. Due South wasn’t a high profile, tremendous budget exhibit to open with. I’m not going to lie. The prove could peek better with re-mastering. But as long as you have a decent TV, it certainly looks better then when it was broadcasted. Certainly better then VHS, thats for certain.
The quality complaint is mostly aimed at the first season though. Season 2 and 3 glimpse grand cleaner and clearer. At a mark of $33, I’d seek information from powerful worse. Quality’s no more worse then the first few seasons of the X-files. It’s a semi successful 90’s TV demonstrate, what does one ask?

All 11 discs are housed in what is essentially a beefy DVD case. It takes up very minute region on the shelf. (Examine customer photo’s) If the case was dropped though, query a pile of plastic. Though the discs won’t come by harmed.
So again, you’re getting the complete series, all 4 seasons in there American release. Meaning season 3 and 4 were combined to originate a single 3rd season. Whether it’s the Canadian listing, or the American listing, it’s always going to be 68 episodes in total. The box station has no special features. Most importantly though, no flipper discs. I got this for $33 on Amazon.ca, which is very cheap for a complete display with 68 episodes.
It doesn’t discover like Due South is getting a re-mastered Blu-ray treatment anytime soon (Though it obviously should) With all the confusing DVD’s releases, the split up seasons, and flipper disc/quality issues, this is the most affordable and easiest scheme to earn the complete explain on DVD. Unless you want to consume the extra cash on the UK season sets, this is a must retract for fans who do not have the note.
Did I mention how stout the indicate is?
FYI – Since the listing doesn’t let you know specifically, Season 3 in Due South: The Ultimate Collection INCLUDES Call of the Wild Parts 1 & 2 so you don’t need to acquire the separate DVD.
FANTASTIC series! If you like Paul Atrocious, be determined to check out Slings & Arrows, a mini-series available on DVD!

A group of three women have hidden diamonds somewhere. The women were captured and sent to prison, but they have yet to confess the space of the diamonds. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on whether you are an audience member for this movie), the police have a clever area to locate the diamonds. A female police officer (Carole Mathews) is going to prison to infiltrate the gang. She will aid the three women dash and let them lead her to the state of the hidden diamonds. My only ask is: Why didn’t I judge of that?

While we perceive the setup for the tall jail rupture, we also accumulate to ogle Bob Matthews (played by Touch, later Mike, Conners, star of “Mannix”; Conners has appeared in hundreds of movies and television episodes, including “Island in the Sky” with John Wayne) and his girl friend wandering about, apparently at Mardi Gras in Novel Orleans. Eventually they extinguish up boating in the same swamp as…
The prison shatter ladies have made their getaway. Unfortunately, they require modern transportation. Unprejudiced about that time Bob and his girl friend reveal up in a boat. What a coincidence! At first, the three tough-as-hangnails prison babes want to ruin Bob and his girl friend, but the undercover police woman convinces the women that the pair would be better as hostages versus alligator snacks.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Swamp Women! Click Here
The police thought works, except now Bob and his girl friend are tagging along. Things regain magnificent listless from this point forward, so director Roger Corman livens things up by having the ladies regain into fights. The fights observe over-exaggerated, but they positive are fun! We also rep to behold macho man Connors tied to a tree while a hot prison babe cozies up to him. Ogle, the excitement knows no bounds!
Roger Corman is generally better when he has a rubber monster floating about somewhere. We only acquire a abominable defenseless alligator in this movie. Against three prison babes, a police woman and Mike Connors, I felt sorrier for the alligator than I did for his intended prey. The alligator would have honest got indigestion anyway (kind of like the audience) .
In order to want this film you have to be a really, REALLY gargantuan fan of Roger Corman or one of the people appearing in this movie. If you are not a really sizable fan, why bother? This movie has a musty station and the acting is frequently over-the-top. When the acting is not hammy, it is corny. The movie is so stupid in places that I had a hard time staying awake.
There are a few movies where you wonder why you spent the time to look it. This movie definitely falls into that category. Unless you are trying to have out your collection of Roger Corman or Mike Connors movies, try “Attack of the Giant Leeches” or “Humanoids from the Deep.”
Good luck – you’ll need it!
This movie was made around 1955 so the above “1941″ listed year is 14 years too early. I haven’t seen this DVD version but I have seen the film. Swamp Woman was not intended to be taken seriously! It is a mans’ fantasy film about comely women convicts holding a gorgeous guy and his girl-friend hostage in the swamp! heee! A sort of guilty pleasure. My enjoyment of this film is watching Beverly Garland, who is always fantastic to ogle at!

This is one of the funniest movies made in my lifetime. I had seen the movie hundreds of times and equally enjoyed each viewing, so when I heard there was going to be an unrated version, I pre-ordered it suitable away.

This is a broad DVD edition. The deleted scenes are hilarious – and some probably should have been left in the movie (like the “other peoples’ money – consume the day” scene) . The alternate endings are also fine frigid, but they definitely chose the best ending for the accurate theatrical release. The retrospective documentary is also quite provocative, as you find some insight into the production, casting, etc… of the movie, as well as the impact it has had on comedy fans over the years. If you search through the interactive menus enough, you will even acquire a couple of hidden features.
Dumb and Dumber lives on as a standout comedy film. It honest never seems to rep weak… I’m fair angry to finally gain some bonus footage from this comedy classic!
If there is a film out there that has created such an rift among viewers as Tiresome and Dumber, I’d like to leer it. It seems that everyone I know either loves the movie or abhorrs it. It is easy to discover why people adore the movie. The movie is outrageously humorous, and I enjoy most of the film’s critics will concede this. However, without fail, the number one critique of the film by opponents is, “but it’s so wearisome.” This is like saying you don’t like Schindler’s List because “it’s too serious.” Of course it’s dull! That’s the point! Unfortunately, pounding the keys on the keyboard harder isn’t helping to report my sentiments here. First of all, this is not a movie you can only notice once. Definite, one viewing will legend for all the “gargantuan laughs”, Lloyd’s airport fiasco, Harry’s bathroom adventure and the ski rob accident. If you nefarious your judgement on the titanic laughs alone, I can examine how the movie could seem innane and childish. I suggest every critic of Tiring, and Dumber should gape the movie a few more times for the slight laughs. There are so many jokes and they are so clever that I gather myself appreciating the movie more each time I behold it. For example, in the scene with the area trooper (Harland Williams) the center of comedic attention is clearly the point at which the officer drinks the beer bottle chunky of urine. This “gargantuan laugh” often steals the limelight away from the smaller laughs in the same scene. While handing the bottle over to the trooper, Lloyd accidentally spills some of the urine on Harry, to Harry’s definite displeasure. When the officer realizes what it is he has swallowed, one can faintly hear Lloyd suggest, “Tic Tac sir? ” It is subtle moments like these that pervade the movie and produce it expansive every time you peer it. I contemplate share of the quandary with the movie is that there are simply too many jokes in the movie. Many of the more subtle, clever jokes collect overshadowed by bigger ones, leaving some feeling like the movie is simple toilet humor. This is a grave injustice. Perhaps the most complexing exclaim concerning the well-known reception of Boring and Dumber is the overwhelming acclaim of the Farelly brother’s follow-up film, There’s Something About Mary. The two movies are eerily similar. Both involve a road waddle starting in Providence. These trips are in search of a woman who is diagram to friendly for her respective suitor. In both, the protagonists encounter danger and comedic moments along the plan. Yet everyone I know loves Mary, while Slow and Dumber recieves mixed reviews. The only principal incompatibility between the two films is that in Wearisome and Dumber, our hero doesn’t net the girl. Perhaps this is why reception of the movie is so clearly delineated along gender lines. Women, I can only rob, want Unimaginative and Dumber to be a romantic comedy, which it is clearly not. Mary can be seen perhaps as fitting this genre because it has the textbook ‘boy gets girl’ ending (although my mother wanted Brett Favre to regain the girl) . The fact that Dumber doesn’t tumble into the obligatory cliche ending is, in my idea, a gigantic share of it’s appeal. Whether you like it or not, you should take a copy of Plain and Dumber and study it fifty times like I have. Then I mediate you will understand that being dreary is “genius, sheer genius.”

This is an good “Who-dun-it” starring Glenn Ford, Rita Hayworth, and Alexander Scourby. Rita’s husband dies of an apparent suicide…BUT…was it really a suicide and not a slay. Glenn Ford is the expressionless man’s brother who comes to Trinidad to investigate and derive the killer. Suspects are the widow herself and a rich man she has a relationship with. Others in the cast add mystery and there are a couple of musical numbers by Hayworth. Sort of Film Noir and a very favorable mystery. Worth watching.
After her divorce from Prince Aly Khan, Rita Hayworth returned to America and Columbia immediately attach her into this film, reuniting her with her popular costar, Glenn Ford. Writer and producer of “Gilda”, Virginia Van Upp, was also on board, as was Stephen Geray who had portrayed Uncle Pio in the earlier film.

It is a noir along the lines of the aformentioned movie, with Rita portraying Trinidad cafe dancer Chris Emery, whose husband, Neal, is the owner of the joint. The authorities expose up one evening after her dance routine to roar her that her spouse has apparently committed suicide. Although alarmed, she later cooperates with police when they accomplish that he actually was murdered and they ask her to encourage with the investigation. They suspect the wealthy playboy Max Fabian (Alexander Scourby), of the crime, and since he is infatuated with Chris, she can score cessation to him. Neal’s older brother, Steve (Ford) arrives, unaware of his brother’s death, but once he learns of it, he is sure to gather out the truth. He is suspicious of Chris, but he is also attracted to her – something he tries to screen. As Chris cannot bid what she is up to, Steve begins to suspect that she knows more about Neal’s death than she will admit. He is infuriated further by Fabian, who makes it no secret that he desires her. This leads to a showdown at the villain’s mansion, with a strew of menacing, secondary characters to supply a sub-plot of spies and world control a la Gilda.
Although not quite on par with the earlier Hayworth/Ford teaming, this is an sharp narrate that should please the viewer in the procedure of suspense, intrigue, and of course, the electricity generated between the two stars. And the songs (Rita’s vocals were dubbed by Jo Ann Greer), “Trinidad Lady”, and “I’ve Been Kissed Before”, steamy dance routines (created by Valerie Bettis, who appears as the wife of one of the spies), and the gowns by Jean Louis are definately a highlight.

Recently checked this out over the weekend, prepared to merely re-watch an obsolete favorite-but boy, is there a lot of frosty “add ons” in this version made for DVD! First of all, the film comes letterboxed-only (some people like having the choice, but if you’ve seen this in a movie theater, you ogle a LOT of stuff crop off at the edges by “blowing it up” to corpulent hide), a tear through commentary by legendary puppeteer (yell of ms. piggy/grover) turned director-Frank Oz that lends a humourous and insightful (if sometimes technical) overview from the one guy most righteous to talk about its slow the scenes trials and tribualations. You’ll be surprised at impartial how worthy work and planning really went into it. And, best of all-the legendary new ending! Yes, it’s apt, the off-broadway musical (and even the Corman B-movie unusual) had a VERY different ending. This is where Oz’s comments reach in particularly handy as first hand guide to the very tough decisions a filmaker has to gain regarding his work if the people paying for it ultimately call the shots. So why is it not available? Well, turns out the lost ending footage is owned by producer David Geffen, who did not obvious or approve its inclusion on the disc. Could be because presented with another choice, fans of this movie may agree with Oz (and screenwriter Howard Ashman, who died in 1991) on the unusual ending having a distinguished greater impact. So if you can derive this disc, by all means check it out!
What can I say, I judge that this is a unbelievable movie and musical. The setting takes residence in a plant shop that is on the verge of bankruptcy. Mr. Mushnik is the boss and Audrey and Seymour work for him. Seymour buys a human eating plant for Audrey and names it Audrey 2. Seymour is hopelessly in worship with Audrey, but unfortunately Audrey already has a boyfriend, Orin. Orin is a dentist and treats Audrey like dirt. Deep down, Audrey would rather be with Seymour than wit Orin. Finally Seymour kills Orin and feeds him to Audrey 2.
OK, here is why I did not give this movie five stars. As I imagine you all know, the play and the movie are different. In the play at the Waste Audrey 2 eats Audrey and Seymour feels so lonely without her that he commits suicide by feeding himself to the plant. In the movie on the other hand the shop caught fire and the plant didn’t survive, but Audrey and Seymour got married. Another plight with the movie was that the poignant appreciate song, “Suddenly, Seymour,” was well overdone. Missing also is the catchy song “Closed For Renovation.”
Other than that, this is a unbelievable movie, and I would chose to behold it time and again. So go ahead, win it. You will not be sorry.

Palmer shows us Carl Orff the man on all his facets, the righteous and the dubious. As expected from Palmer, he delivers it artistically, with the lawful amount of radiant scenes as well as the frightful ones; the puppets and the hands performance are unprejudiced great; the short clips of the Nazi era are also well placed and relevant to the sage at play. This documentary goes to stout length to display Orff’s contribution to education through his Schulwerk (Schoolwork) and its dissemination through the world. Orff’s music is dilapidated extensively through the film, but I was a puny bet disappointed that it is not described or talked about too powerful. Obviously Carmina Burana is explained in terms of his history and background, but no about the music itself. For example, any correlation to Stravinsky’s music is not mentioned at all, and there certainly is! Carl Orff the man was exactly that, a man with virtues and guilt. What endures in time, aside of the Schulwerk, is his music, somehow missing in this otherwise expansive documentary.
Every Tony Palmer film is worth the investment. “O Fortuna” is no exception. For the best and most provocative DVD’s on the lives of musicians stick with Tony Palmer.
