We objective fancy the dragon tales cartoons. My three year old-fashioned has learned so mighty about friendship from this series, and loves the music. The DVD itself is honorable. You can decide to play each episode once or play them all continuously. There is also and option to play the music segments which consist of four songs. Some of the songs are repeated from previous DVD’s, but my daughter doesn’t mind since they are so catchy.
Better than some of the previous dvd formats, and they aloof do not include a song between the chapters which would have been nice.

At last, Superman is presented the procedure it was meant to be! The master print for the 1978 classic had deteriorated so badly that the film, particularly the white-on-white Krypton opening scenes, was almost unwatchable. (I had even gone so far as to write a critique on Amazon.com demanding a ‘Director’s Cut’ DVD edition, digitally transferred and remastered, be made!)
Somebody was listening! While this isn’t a ‘Director’s Cut’ (Donner has said that the version that premiered in 1978 was the version he preferred), the movie has been expanded, to include a couple of brief scenes with Brando, and the renowned Superman Gauntlet sequence at Luthor’s underground lair (the remaining unused sequences can be seen in the ‘Deleted Scenes’ Chapter, on Side 2) .
Technically, the DVD is fabulous; the Krypton sequences are now neat and engaging, a couple of shots where, previously, color balancing problems had turned Superman’s costume green have been corrected, and, best of all, the soundtrack has been digitally remastered and sounds even better than it did in 1978!

Three improbable documentaries are included on Side 2 about the making of the film, and how the flying effects were achieved. This was an incredibly expensive and difficult film to accomplish (so worthy so that Donner, after ‘Superman’ was released to rave reviews, was fired, and replaced by Richard Lester, for ‘Superman 2′), and through interviews with Donner, Christopher Reeve (who is honored for his work in the film, and his courage since his crippling accident), Margot Kidder, Gene Hackman, and several of the creative team, you can enjoy what a original and unbelievable film this is!
Two other ‘pluses’; a full-length audio commentary track with Richard Donner, and a ‘music only’ option, where you can worship one of composer John Williams’ greatest scores!
This Special Edition DVD should be an critical fragment of any film lover’s collection!
This is a tough one to review. For a film made in 1978, I don’t judge it could recognize any better. I’m willing to bet this Blu-ray disc is as honorable if not better than the premiere screening of Superman aid in 78. Vast care must have been taken to super up and restore this portray. It is practically free of scratches and dirt. It is detailed, far above standard definition. Colors are balanced and stare catching. Difference is natural and evenly spread. Inserted scenes are consistent with the rest of the film. Never looked better. Smooth, 1978. There are a few scenes with plenty of grain and most of the film gives the impression of being a miniature out of focus, a tiny blurred. Five star transfer, four star visual impact. I doubt if a 1080p point to is getting distinguished more out of this report than a 720p explain.

I work for the Dinosaur Natural History Association in Brooks, Alberta. We relieve Dinosaur Provincial Park. Because of this I started receiving phone calls from the UK, from friends and family asking me if I had seen “Walking with Dinosaurs”. Everyone was raving about it, however, I had at this time no belief what they were talking about. Luckily I was sent a copy for Christmas and what can I say. This is one of the most interesting and amazing site of programs I have ever seen. My mouth was initiate in amazement most of the time! The animation was beyond plan. Basically “Walking with Dinosaurs” is 6 section series made in documentary fashion. The producers worked with palaeontologists and animators to pick what we know about dinosaurs, with what we consider we know to approach up with six astounding programs of a documentary style that would develop you beget you were actually walking with dinosaurs. Narrated by Kenneth Branagh in a design that you would quiz to view on the Discovery Channel while watching a documentary on a pride of lions. My nine year traditional daughter watched this too and was totally caught up in it. Never have I watched such an incredible creation. The animation matches that of the dinosaurs in “Jurassic Park”. The account lines are believable to the point that you gather emotionally eager with the Iguanodon herd risking attack, or the Apatasaurus caught up in a forest fire trying to hurry. You want the T-Rex to ‘get it’ after the contrivance she treats her man! To top it off at the kill of the series there is a 50 runt “Making of Walking with Dinosaurs” (at least there was on my copy, I hope you all acquire it on the DVD) Which leaves you with feelings of nothing but admiration for Tim Haines’s team, who worked hard at their research and quest for fact, the conditions they had to beget in their heads to film landscape with no dinosaurs, from the footprints they had to design in sand to trees swaying and splashing water… Spy THIS! It is hysterically comic in parts and you will be amazed. If you scrutinize no other movie or series in your life …. recognize this one because you will feel totally fulfilled, amazed and be on the phone to your friends telling them about it. It is truly shimmering and you will want to stare it all over again immediately afterwards… I know I did!
Please feel free to email me
“Walking With Dinosaurs” is the kind of documentary that digital and other high tech methods of animation were made for! Granted, Spielberg veteran some similar methods to genuine carry out in his dino-films “Jurassic Park” and “Lost World,” but “Walking With Dinosaurs” is the unique apex of animation technology for exctinct animals, and ragged for education, too!
I sat in horror as I watched these six fabulous segments on the natural history of dinosaurs produced by the BBC. I was particularly impressed by the segment on marine reptiles — a group that receives relatively itsy-bitsy press, since they’re not dinos, and since they don’t interact with most peoples’ favorites, like T. rex, Allosaurus, or Stegosaurus, etc.

Never had I seen recreations of dinosaurs that were as life-like and convincing (except for the occasional animatronic do) as the ones in this video.
Watching these segments about different time periods, places, and groups of dinosaurs I was once again reminded and impressed by the long reign of these animals on the earth. I also conception that many aspects of their biology and ecology were interestingly presented. No one was, of course, around to explore what these animals actually did, so the method dinos are presented in the video are unavoidably informed guesses about how we reflect that these now customary animals lived. I applaud the author and producer for their graceful efforts!
Viewers should be aware, however, that there is a stout and convincing alternative body of information (backed by a important number of paleontologists) that suggests that carnivorous dinosaurs like Allosaurus, T. rex, and even Utahraptor did not hasten down their prey, bring them down, and extinguish them like a giant lion would — i.e., overpowering and killing their prey immediately. The alternative proposal about how the meateaters did their business is akin to the blueprint that monitor lizards, like the Komodo Dragon, bring down their prey. Dragons inflict a slashing bite, even a relatively puny one on their prey. When they do that bacteria that live on their teeth are introduced into the prey’s body. After a while the prey animal succumbs to the bacterial infection and the dragon can eat at will. Granted, this blueprint of attack and subjugation is less dramatic than the hunt and slay procedure portrayed a couple of times in this video series, but it’s an equally if not even more convincing tale about how astronomical meat eaters may well have done their business.

Those kinds of academic debates aside, this is a improbable, radiant series. The imagery is capable, the soundtrack is supportive and enhancing, and the narration is outstanding! I will gawk this series again and again.
5 stars all the blueprint!

My 2+ year conventional has loved this video since he was 9 months feeble, and it’s Level-headed his approved kids’ (non-movie) video!
We bought a couple other Sing-A-Longs after this (Campout at Walt Disney World, and the Disneyland: Tickled Haunting one), and they don’t compare to this one. Those videos star cheesy kids who “act” for the camera and try to be cute. The kids in this video are really there to simply benefit produce the environment, even though you contemplate the same group of kids throughout the video.
Plus, this video concentrates more on the characters and the attractions, than the kids (during the Shrinking Mansion song, it stars only the Villians and you practically chase the entire streak!) . Which makes it fun for adults and fans of Disneyland – it plays like a Disneyland home video! Also, this was filmed around 1989-1990, impartial after Splash Mountain opened. Which means you gain to search for several attractions and restaurants that are no longer there: the Rocket Jets, People Mover, and Submarine – all in pre-1998 Tomorrowland.

My wife and I agree that the songs are also splendid first-rate, even the recent ones (“Making Memories” and “Walking Suitable Down the Middle of Main Street, USA” near to mind) .
If you’re a fan of Disneyland and Disneyland videos (especially to procure you in the mood before a vacation there), this is a must-own.
My daughter loves this movie. She sings and dances to all the songs. The video is the Disney characters at Disneyland with some kids (not cartoon) . They go on rides and objective play thru disneyland. The songs are pleased songs and you cant benefit but feel joyful when you hear them. There is one “scary song” but when you notice donald ducks tail sticking out the support of the sheet, because he’s pretending to be a ghost, you cant assist but to laugh (my 3 yr worn cracks up every time) . I unbiased bought another notify along songs because she loves this one so considerable. The video has: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald, Roger Rabbit, Pooh, Eyeore, Tigger, Mary Poppins, Chip N Dale, Alice in Wonderland and the Rabbit, and more I objective cant judge. This movie was well worth buying.

You can hardly go depraved with someone who has given us the insouciant variety of Glengarry Glen Ross or Wag the Dog. Redbelt is a classic of the same cadre, hands-down the best martial arts movie you have seen in a decade, if not the very best of all time.

Without any flying dragons or crouching whatchamaycallits, mind you. Without even the guttaral shrieks of your standard disclose kung-fu flick. So don’t be going seeing it expecting your typical jumping jacks and shenanigans from Hong Kong.
It starts in what looks like your average ramshackle dojo teaching Brazilian Judo tricks. The authenticity of the maneuvers is instructive, and racy. But this soon builds into a thrilling rumination of our favorite human tussle between staying fair to our integrity and giving in to the practical conveniences of the moment.

The screenplay is vintage Mamet. We come by a dependable dose of one-liners (“I don’t relate people to fight. I instruct them to prevail.”) The story offers some unexpected twists but exhibits a gentle unaffected beauty, an austerity that seems almost effortless. You’ll ogle it in one swoop.
For some inadequately explored reason Amazon and various other sources reveal on billing this as a Tim Allen starrer, which is puzzling. He fritters a guest appearance at best (what happened–not enough dates? ) and is basically rapidly forgotten.
See it instead for the irrepressible tenacity of Ejiofor. He’s one of those actors you have seen in strident supporting gigs before, but handed his first meaningful protagonist role here, he brings quite a spine to the film. His character calmly copes with the insidious commercialism and scheming all around him, but his choose is not without its frailties. Mild, we root for him from basically the first ten minutes onwards.
The ending may feel a trifle pat, or at least sudden, but this is undeniably a memorable work of art. Even for people without a flair for martial arts. A highly recommended keeper.
REDBELT is a mesmerizing tour de force. There are so many narrative elements intricately tied together. Causal action relationships bump up against arbitrary chance events. The honor code of the Samurai warrior meets up and does battle with the criminal scams of a greedy Hollywood film and sports culture. Mamet frames his film with the world of martial arts and yet it is at the same time the classic Greek warrior’s excellent struggle, “arête”, which thus becomes a bewitching fusion of Eastern and Western cultural traditions. The jiu-jitsu instructor’s (Mike Terry) caveats to his students in the opening scene in how to marshal their forces and extricate themselves from entrapment by their opponent (“There is always a blueprint out, you unprejudiced have to bag it”) all return to test him as the movie unfolds and he becomes ensnared in the dishonorable world which surrounds him. The acting throughout is edifying with a cast that reflects Mamet’s refined sense of individual characters. Chiwetel Ejiofor is great. While he dominates the film, the other members of the cast are more than impressive, especially Ricky Jay who plays a scumbag fight promoter. If I were to have any criticism, it would be that Mamet sometimes moves too expeditiously in the exposition of his “exquisite puzzle” and at times during the film, I felt a bit frustrated and confused. But that is a shrimp brand to pay for such a sharp artistic experience. The camera work is engrossing. Mamet uses lots of modern close-up shots, not fair of faces but also segments of the landscape in which valuable action is occurring. It’s a very painterly reach to film. This is a film that stimulates one to ogle it several more times, hopefully on the mammoth conceal. I’ve not elaborated on any specific scenes, as I don’t wish to spoil the piquant denouement of the film. REDBELT is colorful filmmaking.

This is a movie about fresh-faced young ballet dancers who benefit the American Ballet Academy and compete for a few coveted spots in the ballet company.
This is the first film for the stars, Amanda Schull, who in sincere life is an apprentice at the Corps de Ballet in San Francisco, and Ethan Steifel, who is the valuable dancer for the American Ballet Theater and considered the best male dancer in the world. Their acting is proper, but it overshadowed by their absolutely lovely dance performances.
There’s a capable universal tale here of the competition among the young dancers, their hopes and dreams, romances and mishaps. There’s Zoe Saldana as the wisecracking rebel with an attitude who nevertheless loves to dance. There’s Susan May Pratt as a bulimic who has been pressured into ballet by her mother. There are several savor triangles and some surprises in the station.

But most of all — there is the dancing. Ah, the dancing! There’s classical ballet and Latin dancing and a finale that combines elements of jazz, new and ballet. The music is perfect for the dance pieces. And everyone is ravishing.
The film stirred longings in me to procure up and dance myself, and in a device I was doing that as I completely got into watching this video. For all lovers of dance and for 117 minutes of total enjoyment, Center Stage gets a high recommendation from me.
I saw Center Stage once in the theatre and bought it recently on DVD. It hasn’t left my DVD player, and I’ve probably watched it upwards of seven or eight times since. The cast is energetic and amazingly talented, the soundtrack is an advantageous match to the various types of dance numbers, and the dancing itself is sublime.
I loved the extra features on this DVD, most notably the isolated soundtrack, director’s commentary, deleted scenes and the extended dance sequences. The video by Mandy Moore was also a nice touch seeing as it uses footage of the cast of Center Stage and is an helpful song on its acquire.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Center Stage! Click Here
The isolated soundtrack works well with the workshop numbers as well as the club scene. The commentary by Nicholas Hytner was engaging as well–for example, the NY skyline in the dance studio was simply a very stout transparency. He also addresses technical aspects of shooting dancers and the wrong dance studio mirrors. There are only two deleted scenes: one of Cooper at a rehearsal for “Stars and Stripes” as he chats with Joan Miller, and one where Charlie performs a solo number in rehearsal, featuring comely footwork and a roguish mood.
The extended dance sequences travel considerable more smoothly without the constant cuts to the rather bored-looking audience, allowing the footwork and energy to shine through uninterrupted.
Although quips have been made regarding the acting abilities of the mostly dance-oriented cast, I idea that everyone interested did an outstanding job. This has to be my favourite movie of the last five years or so.

Dead Space: Downfall serves its purpose as being a decent challenging prelude to EA’s gargantuan site based survival alarm video game, delivering the goods in terms of blood and gore. However, there’s minute else to be found than that here, and that may be absolutely ravishing with you. The myth revolves around the uncovering of an veteran artifact, and the events that transpire afterwards that involve people going insane and murdering one another. Before you know it, there’s mutated zombie beasts running amok, and no one is superior. What Unimaginative Space: Downfall does manage to execute is define some set points from the video game, as well as set-up what to question if you haven’t played it yet. Other than provide grand amounts of bloody, gorey violence, the animation itself is splendid lackluster. Things aren’t really helped grand thanks to some ghastly dialogue and a cliche script from the comical book writing tandem of Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray (whose work has ranged from stout to terrible) that becomes hard to follow in the midst of all the violence. Peaceful, Unimaginative Space: Downfall has a large music derive, some genuinely creppy moments, and decent snarl talent that includes Bruce Boxleitner and Kelly Hu. All in all, Dull Space: Downfall serves as being a decent keen prelude to EA’s large game, and for fans who have played it already or are looking to, this racy dirge is worth a notice.
“Dreary Space: Downfall” is an racy film that serves as a prequel to the outstanding science-fiction survival terror video game, Humdrum Place. The narrative draws heavily upon previous masterpieces of film and game alike which most prominently include Aliens, Resident Improper (the games), 28 Days/Weeks Later and Halo. It makes for an enthralling stand-alone popcorn flick to people outlandish with the game and fleshes out the sage for fans of the game somewhat by showing the events leading up to the nerve-wracking experience of the game in greater detail.

Whether or not you play video games, if you fancy captivating violence then this is as brutal as it gets. The fable involves a mining vessel sent by the fanatical Church of Unitology (Unitarian Scientologists? ) to retrieve an artifact on a tiresome planet. The mining vessels subsist by “cracking” planets and selling the ore. Some say this is detrimental to the harmony of the Universe. I’d say that in this case, that’s an understatement. The vessel unwittingly unleashes an alien bustle -named as “Necromorphs” in the game- that thrive on monotonous flesh; possessing, reanimating, molding, and mutating it into forms apt for slaying even more living things to continually spread the urge. The result is damn horrific by any standard. To beget things worse something is affecting the minds of the crew and driving them furious, making them both enthusiastic to die and raze for the aliens. Mix this with an already fanatical religious sect and you’ve got distress.
So other than a typical sci-fi alien/zombie invasion romp, some of the usual “organized religion will demolish us all” gloom and doom, and a microscopic extra tale for gamers what does “Downfall” offer? Violence. Brutal, inhuman, senseless, bloody, unsuitable, unrelenting, unflinching violence. Decapitation, dismemberment, jaws ripped off, folks sawed in half (both horizontally and vertically), eyeball socket abuse, gaping neck wounds, viscera aplenty, and a freakin’ mutated unimaginative baby biting a dude in the face. Now that is some hardcore sh!+. The inside of the ship is practically painted in blood, and there’s even a bit o’ racy chubby frontal male nudity if that sort of thing piques your interest. So yeah, you may want to send the kids into the next room for this one. The violence in this is awesome. Also be prepared for almost comically excessive profanity.

So with all the attention showered on the sinister piles of dung that are what usually passes for video game adaptations, why has nobody heard of this? The likes of Uwe Boll and Paul Anderson collect notoriety and praise (respectively) for ruining unruinable concepts and franchises while a solid flick like this gets shoved to the assist of the shelf? Double-you. Tea. Eff. To be heavenly, “Downfall” isn’t exactly all it could have been either. The video game not only looks better visually, but is far more fleshed out storywise. This film does very microscopic to offer insight into the Necromorphs and few varieties even develop appearances. I was hoping for a lot more. Practically none of the game’s weapons are display either which is outlandish considering how frosty they are and that the game takes state on the proper same ship which has no shortage of said weapons. At least one character does manage to produce their diagram to the video game, which picks up at the last scene of “Downfall”.
Gorehounds, adult animation fanatics, sci-fi scare buffs, and video game aficionados are all going to want to gape this. It doesn’t offer mighty more than brutal death, but it offers a whole lot of that. I wish it had been done in CG to maintain more of the game’s astounding peruse and feel and that the tale had encompassed more… well, record but this is definitely an intelligent hour and fifteen minutes. The special features are sparse. Hopefully more video game adaptations will stick to the spirited format which has produced solid if not exceptional films like Street Fighter (compare that to the funny live-action version) and Final Fantasy VII – Advent Children. My fingers are crossed for the upcoming CG flick Resident Evil: Degeneration.
